Keeping More Soft Tissue Procedures In-House with CO₂ Laser Dentistry

Many general practices refer out soft-tissue work that a CO₂ laser can handle chairside. With a CO₂ wavelength’s affinity for water-rich tissue, procedures such as gingival recontouring, operculectomies, frenectomies, and minor soft-tissue biopsies can often be performed in-house with a clean, largely bloodless field.

Keeping these procedures in the practice can shorten the patient’s path to treatment, reduce outbound referrals, and let the restorative or hygiene visit flow without a separate appointment elsewhere. The laser’s hemostasis also supports clear visualization during the same visit’s restorative steps.
